Who we are
The Vaughan International Music Festival (VIMF) is a community-driven celebration built on one idea. Music should be accessible, inclusive, and experienced together.
As the first international music festival in the City of Vaughan and York Region, VIMF brings people together through a shared love of music while reflecting the diversity that defines our community.
More than an event, VIMF is a platform. We create space for artists to be seen, for cultures to be celebrated, and for communities to connect.
what we do
VIMF curates live music experiences that showcase a wide range of genres and voices, from
emerging local artists to established performers.
We are committed to supporting the next generation of talent by providing real opportunities for
exposure, development, and growth. Through initiatives like our scholarship program and youth-
focused programming, we work to reduce barriers and open doors within the music industry.
At the same time, VIMF fosters cultural exchange by bringing together artists and audiences
from diverse backgrounds, creating an environment where music becomes a shared language.
The festival also plays a key role in activating Vaughan’s downtown core, drawing visitors from
across the region and supporting local businesses.
WHY IT MATTERS
Music is everywhere, but access to creating and performing it is not.
VIMF exists to close that gap. To give artists a stage. To give communities a place to connect.
And to ensure that music is not just something people listen to, but something they are part of.
